Traditional Jobs May No Longer Be The Answer
More than ever before in history individuals today are looking for ways to diversify their income to add a level of security to their families. No longer can we expect to work one or two jobs in a lifetime – one study reports the average individual changes careers (not jobs - but careers) 3 – 8 times in a lifetime. Each year we often hear about mergers and buyouts resulting in a job loss for thousands. As companies strive to compete or even survive, we hear about downsizing where experience and higher salaries are traded for a combination of spreading the work between remaining employees and new employees who will work for less.
Many individuals will continue to focus on working for someone else as the sole means of supporting themselves. Others look for alternatives – or a “Plan B” to supplement or eventually replace their current positions. The direct sales industry is currently attracting 300,000 people a week to explore entrepreneurial opportunities that now generate 110 billion dollars of sales per year. Worldwide, more than 61 million people are now working opportunities from their home. So what does it take to create success from home? Let’s explore the main factors:
Individual Belief
This simple yet critical factor is key to achieving a level of success with a home-based business opportunity. If you are unable to control the space between your ears, we may as well stay sitting on the couch in front of the TV, or continue working a job leading to nowhere. Today more than ever before, we have access to a variety of materials at our fingertips that can assist us in changing how we think and look at situations. We must believe in ourselves and know we have a purpose for being on the earth.
Our Ability To Change
As new situations and opportunities are presented each day, we must understand that change is now a way of life. If we refuse to consider new ways, life will soon pass us by and we will not be happy with the result. We must also understand that change will happen with or without us, and there is little we can do to slow down or alter the events in the world. The Internet will most likely be the largest single factor creating change in our lifetime. It will also create untold opportunities to create income. However, I am not talking about compromising our core beliefs and values – today we must remain strong and not follow all the ways of the world as it changes around us.
Understand There Is No Free Lunch
It is very unlikely that we will ever win the lottery or find a check in our mailbox that will take care of all our needs for the rest of our life. The overwhelming odds are we each must create our own level of success as the fruits of our own efforts. If we look to others or the government to take care of us, we may find we will not be happy with the choices we face. We each must face the facts that we alone must make choices and put forth the effort to position ourselves for our desired level of financial achievement.
Find The Opportunity That Is Right For You
We see plenty of advertising identifying the right opportunity or hear others share what they believe we need to be successful. We should look for opportunities that match our interests, as well as our time and financial resources. Complete your research to make sure the opportunity is backed by a reputable and financially solid company. Ensure you understand the steps you need to take before you start, and that training and leadership is available to help you create success.
Be Consistent and Persistent
One must understand that starting a home-based business will not bring immediate results. We may need to make some sacrifices now to later enjoy the rewards of our efforts. We may make some mistakes when we start and must look at them as learning experiences from which we can grow. It is through a consistent effort and the ability to face and master the challenges we encounter, that we will work toward our desired level of success. If we think about it, this is really the same thing we do in our everyday life with our families and the jobs we hold. The difference is that we control what we do and when we do it. In the end it is our own skills and our ability to work with others that will determine our success.
Financial Success
Financial success is different for each of us. For some of us it may be a few hundred dollars a month to supplement other financial means for our family. Others may desire to create thousands of dollars a month and turn what started as a part-time venture into a full-time business. Others may desire to work an opportunity for a period of time and then sit back and let the income continue to flow their way long after they physically have stopped working the business. On this site, I have listed a few opportunities that my wife and I have found to be the right match for us. If there is anything we can do to assist you on your journey to find your “Plan B” opportunity, please let us know. Best wishes on your way to creating your own success.
